JR Ortega, a state champion wrestler from Grandview High School, is AuroraTV's Athlete of the Month from Cherry Creek Schools for February 2026.  Ortega has also won the Reno Tournament of Champions, finished third at the Doc Buchanan Invitational in California and is eyeing a repeat CHSAA state championship.  Ortega also excels in the classroom, where he has a 3.6 GPA.

Jimena Rivera, a three sport star from Hinkley High School, is AuroraTV's Athlete of the Month from Aurora Public Schools for February 2026.  Rivera is the team MVP in flag football and also plays basketball and soccer.  Rivera is concurrently enrolled at the Community College of Aurora, and will have her associates degree by the time she graduates from Hinkley.
