JR Ortega, a state champion wrestler from Grandview High School, is AuroraTV's Athlete of the Month from Cherry Creek Schools for February 2026.

Brooklyn Burke, an Eaglecrest High School hip-hop dancer, is AuroraTV's Athlete of the Month from Cherry Creek Schools for January 2026.

Aurora Sparks is a new, youth-driven, licensed after-school program provided by the city's Parks and Rec Department that puts creativity and choice at the center of all activities.

Two new eSports hubs are now open at Southeast and the Central recreation centers. That means in addition to the lounge at Expo Community Center, which opened in 2021, there are now three total locations to play.

Tylen Haller is the Cherry Creek School District Athlete of the Month for December.  He earned First-Team All-Conference honors, was named Honorable Mention All-State, and received Academic All-State recognition.

The Colorado state Yo-Yo Championships took places November 30, 2025, at The People’s Building in Aurora.

Over 250 people from all across the country came to watch 50 contestants strut their stuff. 

The third annual Colorado Step Summit took place Nov. 15 at Vista PEAK Preparatory featuring high school step teams and college stroll performers.
