The Aurora Civic Engagement Academy is a free, eight-week program designed to help residents and those who work in the city better understand how local government operates.

Participants learn about a variety of topics, including the roles and responsibilities of elected officials, the city budget, and other key aspects of municipal governance. The program concludes with a community project that allows participants to apply what they've learned.

For the 2025 session, the class partnered with The Little Flower Assistance Center to assemble and distribute meal kits to local seniors in need.
