Utah Pool Is Ready to Reopen

Aurora’s oldest public pool is reopening after a yearlong renovation.

Utah Pool, near Peoria Street and Jewell Avenue, will welcome swimmers back on April 6 after repairs to fix long-standing leaks.

“The genesis of the original closure was to address leakage in the facility,” said Ted Bryant with Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space.

City officials say those issues have now been resolved, preventing water loss and improving efficiency.

The project also focused on conservation, with upgrades including a new filtration and flocculation system. Officials estimate the improvements could save up to 200,000 gallons of water each year.

Visitors will also notice new features, including a water slide and pool liner.

PROS says the pool has served as a community gathering spot for more than 50 years, and they’re excited to welcome people back just in time for the warmer months.

Celebrate the reopening of Utah Pool on Saturday, April 18 from noon to 4 p.m.
