The Aurora History Museum and Historic Sites reflects on 150 years of Colorado statehood and 250 years of an independent United States with an exhibit that honors the servicemembers from Aurora who gave their lives for our freedoms.
“The Local Cost of Freedom: Aurora’s Fallen in the Sesquisemiquincentennial Story" places local stories within the larger framework of American history. Across the nation and the state, countless lives have been lost in the name of freedom, and the bravery of Aurora’s fallen is part of this enduring legacy.
During this year, full of historic milestones, this exhibit honors Aurora’s fallen and invites visitors into a space of thoughtful reflection and remembrance. Mayor Coffman, a veteran himself, was one of the first to see the exhibit and share his thoughts.
Visit the Aurora History Museum to see the exhibit and learn the stories now through July 11, 2026.
