The City of Aurora just received a five million dollar grant to invest in our tree canopy, which is the area of shade coverage a tree provides. The funding came from the USDA Forest Service and their Urban and Community Forestry program. It will directly support a project called "Reinvesting in Aurora's urban canopy for social equity and climate resilience. Aurora's Parks and Rec department helped make it possible, along with the city's Office of International and Immigrant Affairs.
