Aurora Fire Rescue has distributed new TecGen single layer gear to firefighters.  It's a new alternative option to the more standard bunker gear that AFR members have traditionally worn for all calls.  

Bunker gear is made of heat-resistant material that contains PFAS, a harmful cancer-causing forever chemical.  This is the second cancer reducing measure introduced this year, after the department began offering comprehensive cancer screenings to all members in April.
