The Colorado state Yo-Yo Championships took places November 30, 2025, at The People’s Building in Aurora.

Over 250 people from all across the country came to watch 50 contestants strut their stuff. 

Modern yo-yoing has six contest freestyle divisions, including one style where the yo-yo comes off the string. Much like in figure skating or gymnastics, timed routines choreographed to music, are evaluated by a panel of judges, considering criteria such as complexity, creativity and cleanliness.
