Aurora Fire Rescue's Eric Hurst explains the city's Stage 2 fire ban and what you need to know to help keep our city safe.

The Stage 2 Burn Restriction bans the sale and use of recreational fireworks, recreational fires, bonfires, open or prescribed burns, outdoor smoking in all city of Aurora parks and open spaces, small internal combustion engines operated without a properly installed/maintained/functioning spark arrestor, and model rockets.

Factors used to determine when fire restrictions are initiated include: weather, climate conditions, fuel moistures, local and regional fire activity and national and regional preparedness levels (which influences firefighting resource availability).
