The Water Research Foundation created this short animated video to show how we protect our watersheds and drinking water supply. Aurora Water assisted in this video and the research on communicating water quality issues.
Turquoise Lake, located in Lake County, is the first stop for Aurora's water from Homestake Reservoir. From here, water is moved to Twin Lakes before it's pumped into the South Platte basin.
Located in Park County, south of Fairplay, Spinney Mountain Reservoir is the main storage reservoir for all Homestake Water and Aurora's west Park County Water Rights.
Completed in 1966, Aurora Rampart Reservoir is a small 1300 acre feet reservoir just east of Roxborough State Park, and is used to collect water from the Strontia Springs.
