Owen is two-and-a-half years old and the second youngest of six. He was a healthy baby and toddler but began getting very sick beginning Halloween 2021. His mother, Megan, was terrified that she had been doing something wrong. By Thanksgiving, he had gone from the 30^th percentile to below the first percentile in weight. He was only 16 pounds and had to be admitted to Children’s Hospital Colorado. He was diagnosed with an extreme case of an interesting disease that impacts two to three of every hundred kids.
