On January 8th, 2021, Governor Jared Polis announced Coloradans 70 and older could get the COVID-19 vaccine. Days later, Jessica Kim, an 85-year-old mask maker who handmade thousands of face coverings for essential Aurora workers, received her first shot. Kim recalls a similar time more than half a century ago when the polio vaccine was made available in her country of South Korea.
