Located in Park County, south of Fairplay, Spinney Mountain Reservoir is the main storage reservoir for all Homestake Water and Aurora's west Park County Water Rights.

Turquoise Lake, located in Lake County, is the first stop for Aurora's water from Homestake Reservoir. From here, water is moved to Twin Lakes before it's pumped into the South Platte basin.

Twin Lakes, in Lake County, is the diversion point for Homestake, Ivanhoe, and Grizzly collection systems.

Agriculture is vital to Colorado's economy, so when Aurora had the option to purchase water in the Rocky Ford area, a partnership was developed between the city and the local farmers to ensure viability of the area.
