There's a new option when it comes to affordable housing in Aurora. The Fitzsimons Gateway Apartments are now welcoming residents.
The six-story building features a mix of one and two-bedroom units with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, in-unit washer and dryer, outdoor courtyards, a fitness center and more. It's geared towards families and individuals making between 30 and 70-percent of the area median income.
Fitz Gateway is located at the corner of Colfax and Peoria, right across the street from the nationally-recognized CU Anschutz Medical Campus. The project was the first to break ground using money from Proposition 123, which Colorado voters approved in 2022 to create the state's affordable housing fund.
BMC Investments teamed up with Mile High Development, the Urban Land Conservancy and a number of other financial partners, including the city of Aurora, to make the project a reality.
