Colorado Automation Design and Twin Monkeys Beverage Systems - 2018 Business Awards
Start Time (in seconds)
End Time (in seconds)

Laser-welding robotics, sheet metal handling systems, pharmaceutical packaging and beer canning are among the many automated machinery systems that Colorado Automation & Design (CAD) has designed and manufactured over the years. Employing more than a dozen creative thinkers with 100- plus years of combined experience in manufacturing, automation and engineering, the company moved to northwest Aurora four years ago. With plenty of work on the docket for companies worldwide, CAD is quickly growing out of its 15,000-square-foot space, and is mulling an expansion to 25,000 square feet in the near future. With expertise in mechanical engineering, Brian LeFevre founded CAD in 2005. In 2013, Josh started Odyssey Beerworks brewery. Together, they are the brains behind Twin Monkeys Beverage and Canning Systems. In 2014, Josh’s home-and professional-brewing experience coupled with the pair’s combined expertise in automation engineering enabled them to launch a side project, Twin Monkeys Beverage Canning Systems, which shares space with CAD. Today, more than 100 North American breweries use Twin Monkeys’ systems to can their products, as do brewpubs in places as far away as Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Auckland, New Zealand. The company was featured in 2018 on an episode of World’s Greatest—as the World’s Greatest beverage canning manufacturer, of course.
