Barton Supply - 2019 Business Award Winner
Start Time (in seconds)

It’s hard to imagine while standing in a building or driving through a parking structure that facilities like these have to support enormous weight loads, and that the most important engineering elements in concrete are largely left unseen. Enter Barton Supply. This 46-year-old Colorado company, headquartered in Aurora for the last two decades, is the state’s leader in supplying building sites with post- tensioning and construction systems. Founded by cousins Scott and Don Barton’s fathers and uncles, Barton Supply launched as a foundation-forming company, then branched into supplies. Relocating to Aurora after losing property to eminent domain and selling part ownership to Kodiak Equity to weather the most recent recession, Barton Supply is thriving with the family leadership—the Barton cousins— still in place. Its headquarters boasts 120,000 square feet on 17 acres, and 206 employees work among its Aurora, Colorado Springs and Longmont locations. The company posts architectural renderings in work areas so employeescan see the projects benefitted by their work. Andemployees give back to the community through activities like an in-house “Adopt a Family” program to help more than 200 people, donating food to veterans clubs, providing fabrication for Hope House, volunteering for Habitat forHumanity and participating in Builders for Babies.
