Aurora’s annual Fallen Officer Memorial pays tribute to police officers here, and around the state, who’ve lost their lives in the line of duty. This year’s ceremony included the unveiling of a new plaque on the city’s permanent memorial to honor Aurora Police Sergeant Eric Scherr, who died last year after catching covid while working. Also this week on AuroraNow, Aurora’s Village Exchange Center, which helps our immigrants and refugees, is the focus of an award-winning documentary recently screened at the famous Cannes Film Festival; Vista Peak students show us why worms can help our gardens grow; and Aurora’s outdoor pool season is about to kick off, and you have even more choices this year for cooling off. Those stories, and many more, this week on AuroraNow.
